Born in 1982 in the West Midlands, Matt grew up in the concrete jungle that
is Coventry. At a young age he was inspired by the early Tank Girl comic
adventures first published in Deadline Magazine, and began sketching and
experimenting on any blank canvas he could find
He gained a HND in Visual Communications in 2004 and became a freelance
graphic designer before quickly establishing his own design collective,
Cujo Creative, which remains successful today.
Matt's work with Cujo Creative is mainly functional, business-orientated
design, so he has established a creative offshoot as a freelance illustrator
for more expressive and artistic work. His illustrative styles vary from
clean and contemporary vector graphics to gritty, montage illustration.
It is this diversity that has afforded Matt the opportunity to work with
such a mixed client base to date.
Influences include: Jamie Hewlett (Tank Girl/Gorillaz), Katsuhiro
Otomo (Akira), Mike Mignola (Hellboy) and Egon Schiele.
Matt is a member of the Association of Illustrators.
